Worcester Extractions
Your wisdom teeth usually begin to erupt in your late teens to your early 20s. If they grow in straight and completely, there will be no problem, no pain, and you most likely will not need to have them taken out. Unfortunately, most wisdom teeth, or third molars as they are sometimes referred to, grow in crooked, or only partially. It is common for them to become impacted. Many people experience severe pain, swelling, and even infections. Turn to us at Pearla Dental when that happens.
Our
Worcester extractions are done expertly. We're experienced in the removal of these problematic teeth, and we will make sure that you are as comfortable as possible during the procedure. Local anesthesia will be applied sufficiently. You will feel the pressure that is being exerted on the teeth to remove them, but you should not feel any pain. The process, while more complicated than most extractions of other teeth, can be done smoothly. Often, there is bone blocking the access to one or more teeth. That bone is removed, and any bone attached to a tooth is separated. Some teeth need to be removed in pieces. That is quite common, however. After our
Worcester extractions, you will most likely receive stitches. There may be some residual bleeding. That is natural after oral surgery. You will be given gauze to stem it. After the anesthesia wears off, you should take over-the-counter pain relievers to ensure your discomfort is manageable. Keep an ice pack on the outside of your mouth to manage swelling. You will be given detailed instructions to follow, including maintaining a soft diet for the first 24 hours. In the event of any issues or complications, you should call us right away, but such occurrences are rare.
Our
Worcester extractions are necessary for many wisdom teeth. Contact us to arrange an appointment. We don't want you to suffer needlessly.
