Worcester Dental Implants
Aside from the obvious reason to get our
Worcester dental implants, to restore your complete smile again, there are also practical concerns for filling up that missing space where you used to have a tooth. The rest of the teeth on that jaw can shift, leading to discomfort and a misaligned occlusion (bite). At Pearla Dental, we can provide you with a fixed bridge, or removable partial dentures, but implants represent the solution with the most advantages, and without the drawbacks that more traditional restorations are linked to.
A fixed bridge needs to be stabilized by drilling down the tooth on either side of it, placing the anchor, and then placing a crown on top to hold it. Partial dentures, on the other hand, require that you use dental adhesive. But that can be messy and not always 100% reliable, leaving you feeling self-conscious about chewing or talking since your dentures might slide. Our
Worcester dental implants, though, do not affect any of your other teeth, nor do you need to use adhesive. In addition, unlike bridges or dentures, implants replace both the tooth on the surface and the root beneath. As a result, they preserve your natural facial contours, prevent your bone and gum tissue from atrophying, and give you the strongest possible restoration, one that lets you chew, talk, laugh, and do everything you would do with your natural tooth.
Getting our
Worcester dental implants is a two step process. First, a cylindrical titanium post is placed in your jaw, which acts to replace the root. Over several months, your jaw bone grows around it, fusing with it. The second step is a tooth-colored crown that is cemented to the top of the post. You now have a replacement tooth that looks and feels like a natural one. Better still, it functions like one. You can even floss between it and your other teeth. With proper care, there is no reason not to expect a lifetime of use out of an implant. And they can even be used to anchor complete dentures, if you need to replace all the teeth on one jaw (especially the lower one). It gives you the best of both worlds: the ease of a one-piece unit, and the strength and reliability of implants.
